GIA Trained Gemmologists and Accreditation

Did you know that there are no regulations in Canada or the United States stating one needs to have any training to work in or own a jewellery store? This has been and continues to be a challenge for consumers, especially when you are acquiring a piece of jewellery that will be worn for decades and enjoyed by many generations.

Our family business has voluntarily undertaken studies in gemology and appraising.

A Certified Appraisal Professional CAP CJA (Accredited Appraisal Program, Canadian Jewellers Institute) Gemmologist has met the strictest standards of ethics, integrity and accuracy in quality analysis and non-inflated values. We are among the first appraisers in Canada to meet these high standards in gemmology excellence. The purpose of the voluntary accreditation is to provide our clients the ability to acquire their diamond with the confidence that the jeweller represents a superior level of integrity. Graduating from the Canadian Jewellers Association Certified Appraisal Professional Program (CAP), we abide by the CAP Code of Ethics and Standards (www.canadianjewellers.com).

2 GIA trained Graduate Gemmologists on-site to help you navigate diamond and gemstone qualities. This is important to note as many jewellery stores do not have staff with specific industry training.

One of the most prestigious credentials in the industry, the GIA Graduate Gemologist program gives the comprehensive knowledge of diamonds and coloured stones one needs to succeed in the jewelry business. A GIA trained Graduate Gemologist has the technical expertise and practical skills to evaluate gemstones by the 4Cs (colour, clarity, cut, and carat weight), the Diamond Grading System, and the Coloured Stone Grading System.
